schlotzsky’s. It’s a mouthful.

Schlotzsky’s brought even more of a mouthful with the introduction of calzones. To launch the new menu line-up, we knew we wanted to bring in a brand spokesperson—Joey Fatone, a well-known singer, dancer, actor and TV personality. Joey has a love for great food, and the fact that Fatone just happens to rhyme with calzone had absolutely nothing to do with it.

In addition to our roll-out spot, we had the *NSYNC star temporarily changed his name on social media to “Joey Calzone” and challenged his followers to change their own last names to Calzone. Then we named a menu item after him, the “Fatone Calzone.”
